Have the Democrats turned their back on Civil Rights?

Civil Rights and Individual Liberty. That is what it is all about.

Democrats: remember that it was the Republican Party that fought to free your fellow men, women and children. A hundred years later the Republican party lost sight of their founding principles, and that mantel was picked up by the Democrats.

Now, the Democrats have forgotten the principles of Civil Rights and Individual Liberty. And for the cause of POLITICAL party affiliation, they endorse, support and DEFEND the violation of Civil Rights and Individual Liberty. Witness Democrat Rep. McDermott’s statements to Becky Gerritson this week.

Democrats: Do not make yourself obsolete. This is not about Party, Liberal, or Conservative. This is about Civil Rights and Individual Liberty.

What do you stand for?

“Tea Party witness, Becky Gerritson who made these comments during her opening statement before the House Ways and Means Committee this morning.

“I’m not here as a serf or a vassal. I’m not begging my lords for mercy. I’m a born-free American woman, wife, mother and citizen. And I’m telling my government that you’ve forgotten your place. It’s not your responsibility to look out for my well-being and to monitor my speech. It’s not your right to assert an agenda. Your post, the post that you occupy exists to preserve American liberty. You’ve sworn to perform that duty. And you have faltered!”

Is USA officially a Dictatorship?

Do we now live in a dictatorship?

IRS official refuses to testify before congress: is she sitting in jail for Contempt? Nope, she is on paid vacation.

State Dept refuses to respond to Senate Supoena. Does anyone go to jail for contempt?
Nope. Nothing happens.

IRS Ignores Senate Deadline to answer questions.
Does anyone go to jail for contempt? Obstruction? Nope. Nothing happens.

DOJ continues with business as usual. And any “misconduct” or felonies, why, they will just investigate themselves.

And nothing happens. There are no consequences. The Executive Branch is the only ruling authority left in this nation. What are we paying congress for?

What are the legal consequenses Congress will meet out to ensure this ISNT a dictatorship?

WRITE YOUR REPRESENTATIVES IN CONGRESS!!

DEMAND THEY DO THEIR JOBS!!!

Echoes of Ages past…

First they came for the  border guards and helpless Mexicans along the border, but I didn’t care cuz I’m not one of them.
Then they came for US Ambassadors and Americans overseas, murdering them, but I didn’t care because… I don’t know why. I value my political opinion higher than another person’s life, I guess.

Then they came for Boston runners, and I didn’t care because I value my political opinion above the lives of others, and insisted upon “political correctness.”

Then they came for the privacy of conservatives and the right to organize. But again, I didn’t care because I’m not conservative.

Then they came for the privacy of the Associated Press.
It is time to care, yet?

Are Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama above the Law?

The U.S. President and Secretary of State have broken several laws which are real, criminal offenses. They have abused government authority and they have caused the murder of several American citizens (by their actions). What do we do NOW?

Do we protect them from political fall out by giving them a Free Pass? Are they above the law? Do Accountability, Justice, and people’s lives matter anymore?

In the real world of American Citizens, derelection of duty and criminal acts demand accountability. For politicians that might have political ramifications. But Hillary R. Clinton and Barrack H. Obama are not above the law.

As soon as we allow them to be so, to protect their politics, we cannot hold anyone accountable for anything at any time in the future. Because, would that not affect those future politicians politically?

Do you see how really bad that is? The real life consequences?

As human beings, as a Nation, as leaders, we have an obligation to hold them accountable, even if the consequences are unpalatable. It is the adult thing to do. It is the moral thing to do. It is our obligation to the history and the future.

And it is the only deterent to future would-be abusers. In some cases, “consequences,” or the possibility of them, is the only thing that guides their moral compass.

It’s Accountability.

It is necessary at every level. For example: I am a social worker. Our government, and American taxpayers hold me responsible to do all I can to ensure the safety of the children that I oversee. If I ignore security risks, or do not assess the environment they are in on a repeated basis, they can be harmed or killed.

If that were to happen, the matter would be immediately investigated. I would have to go before a death review panel. I would have to provide sworn testimony. If I were to lie, I would be prosecuted. If I were found negligent in any way, I would be prosecuted. So would my boss. Is that Political Partizanship? No.

It is Accountability.

Would I have to face personal and professional consequences? Yes. Would others suffer, unfairly, because of my actions? Should I get a free pass so there would be no consequences? Is that justice? What of the well-being of other children in the future? Giving me a free pass, does that make them MORE or LESS safe?

Hillary R. Clinton should be held to the same standard. So should her boss.

What are we going to do about this?

“It’s Accountability, Stupid.” sorta quoting the Clinton Campaign

It’s Accountability:  I am a county social worker. Government officials and American taxpayers hold me responsible to do all I can to ensure the safety of the children that I oversee. If I ignore security risks, or do not assess the environment they are in on a repeated basis they can be harmed or killed.

And we would not be treated with kid gloves.

And it would be likely to be all over the news.

Hillary R. Clinton should be held to the same standard. So should her boss.

What are we going to do about this?

Economic Crash is Inevitable: Forbes

Big Banks and Derivatives: Why Another Financial Crisis Is Inevitable

Forbes Magazine, 1/2013

Remember Jaws? In 1975, the small town of Amity was on the eve of the Fourth of July weekend, a time of celebration of the founding of this marvelous country. But just before the celebration was about to begin, a vicious shark attack occurs. Concerned about losing the money from the holiday tourist trade, the mayor and townsfolk ignore the warnings to keep people out of the water. But then after another shark attack, and yet another, the town’s leadership finally grasps the peril, but not before more disasters occurred. You could use that story as a social commentary.

The financial scandals we read of today (ie: Cyprus) are mere blips on the screen, compared to the risk that is still staring us in the face: the lack of transparency in derivative trading that now totals in notional amount more than $700 trillion. That is MORE THAN TEN TIMES the size of the entire world economy. Yet incredibly, we have little information about it or its implications for the financial strength of any of the big banks.

Financial reform didn’t work. Banks today are bigger and more opaque than ever, and they continue in many of the same ways they did before the crash, but on a larger scale.

Ignoring warning signs has inevitable consequences. We ignored them before and we saw what happened. We can say this with certainty: if we continue as we are now, the great white shark of a global financial meltdown will make 2008 look like a hiccup.

We can’t say when this will happen or which particular instrument will trigger the debacle. What we can say with certainty is that if we continue as we are now, it will happen. The impact will be worse than 2008.

We MUST question why our leaders are determined to lead us down this path. They are not ignorant, or stupid. So, why? Is it possible they intend to create just such a crisis, so they can press the re-set button and and subject us all to their own idea of perfection? A world in which they are the elite, and the rest of us, the worker drones, no longer have a voice?

Civil Rights and Individual Liberty are under attack

On Saturday, 3-16-13, the European Union tried to “pull a fast one.” They moved to seize funds in Cyprus banks, without the legislature even voting on it, and without any warning.
The intent was to do this on a Saturday, and quietly have it pass the legislature on a vote scheduled for Monday morning.
But the plan was foiled… by Twitter. There were no news sources reporting the event Saturday, but the common folk affected by this, unable to get their money out of the banks, started Tweeting it. It spread around the world within minutes.
Many of us shared some of the Tweets from Europe on Facebook, and retweeted them on Twitter, at the time.
As a result– the legislature postponed the vote until Tuesday. Finally, they voted. And the result: “Cyprus lawmakers vote down European Union-mandated seizure of bank deposits to fund a bailout of the country.”

Power to The People. Stand up for Civil Rights and Individual Liberty. It matters.

And Brace yourselves, because this is just the beginning. They will be back.

British politician Nigel Farage, on Tuesday, stated: “Get your money out while you can.”

Tea Party= Defense of Civil Rights and Individual Liberty

During his filibuster, Senator Rand Paul did something so simple it is profound. He clearly defined the core principles of the Tea Party into a quick and simple statement: The defense of Civil Rights and Individual Liberty.

ALL Americans feel strongly about Civil Rights and Individual Liberty, and it is the whole point of the Tea Party. It is why it sprung into being all across this nation.

It is the truth.

Why does the Tea Party want fiscal responsibility? So that we, as a nation, can protect our civil rights and individual liberty. Our debt endangers all that that means.

Why does the Tea Party want small government? So that individual liberty is protected and preserved.

Why does the Tea Party want to protect and defend the constitution of the United States? So that we guarantee our civil rights and individual liberty.

Everything the Tea Party stands for can be summed up in that Golden Rule. And it makes sense, quick and easy, with a big “AHA!!” moment to our friends who don’t understand the longer explanations of our economic theories and efforts.

Feel free to share this, folks.
